Kundalini yoga, as we know it, was opened by the Indian Yogi Bhajan to the Western world in the second half of the 20th century. In his Yoga lectures, Bhajan said that kundalini yoga helps to awaken the spiritual energy that is slumbering in the human body, which, like a snake, curled in rings, slumbers somewhere in the area of the sacrum. To merge with the divine consciousness (and this is the main goal of practice), the yogi must awaken the energy and lift it up the central energy channel - the spinal column. "Practicing this kind of yoga just a few minutes a day, you can achieve balance, integrity and harmony in life," says instructor of the TV channel "LIVE!" In kundalini yoga Alexei Merkulov.
Unlike other types of yoga common in the West, kundalini yoga almost does not use classical asanas from hatha yoga. But, according to teachers, kundalini yoga helps very quickly to achieve results for which in hatha yoga are required for many years.
